Over the years - 10 years or so - the Calgary Folk Music Festival has become somewhat of a religion in my family. Warren met my dad for the first time at Folk Fest. I used to wake up really early and head down to Prince's Island park and line up at 6am, before the gates were even open, just so I could rush the main stage with all the other crazies, and lay down our tarps to claim some prime real estate. My program would be marked up with circles and stars mapping out my journey for the day...which stages and which bands I wanted to see. A late afternoon nap under a shady tree wasn't unheard of. I'd saunter lazily through the artist's market and shop for handmade jewelry, scarves and jaunty caps. We'd all warm ourselves with a coffee and the mandatory festival Indian cuisine as the sun set behind the trees. I'd stay until the last song had played, and the last ghostly lantern had winded it's way through the crowd. Only to repeat the ritual the next day.

I LOVE every single picture, but my favourite is the one of you and Rhys in the beer garden. Worth a thousand words. What amazing memories for you and Warren, and what a great family tradition to start. You are such a wonderful little family.
Very enjoyable pictures. The weather was perfect all weekend long so it was good that you were able to take advantage of it. I always thought that people dressed up like hippies for this event but apparently that is not the case. (Good, as clothes back then didn't breathe well.)
Wow, so many great pics!!! I kept thinking....this is the one....then I would see another which I loved more....then another. I love that it's become a family event.
I guess the secret is to pack almost everything you own? So glad you guys had such a good time and what a way to cap off your mat leave!!
It's quite fabulous that no only can you share your passion for Folk Fest with Rhys and Warren, but that it's something you share with your extended family. What a wonderful opportunity for memories.
I can really see the young many Rhys is going to turn into (espeically the shot with him holding the Blackberry--or whatever it is).
Man, my typing/spelling sucked there.
Plus, it seemed like I should have had some kind of "punchline" at the end...
Alas. I'm getting a little "dull" from the pregnancy brain. : D
