Yesterday was Rhys's 1st Birthday. When my brother Adam showed up he asked me "Who the heck has a party on a Wednesday night?".

When I watch it, I can't believe it's only documenting one year. It feels like a lifetime ago that he was born, because my world is so different with him in it.
Song choices:
1st song: 'Innocence' by Avril Lavigne. This song hit me hard when I was pregnant with Rhys. I would crank it in the car and just bawl.
2nd song: 'I Gotta Feeling' by The Black Eyed Peas. I picked this song for a few reasons. First, it has a great intro. Second, it had the 'vibe' I wanted. 3rd, it's a really good sample of the music that was popular the year Rhys was born. It's probably the most over played song in history!
3rd song: 'Canned Heat' by Jamiroquai. It's just a fun song.
4th song: 'Loving You Is Easy' by Sarah Mclachlan. I was so torn about what song to use for the end of the video. Had a few in mind. Then I heard this a few weeks ago on CBC Radio 2, and I had found my ending.
Video was shot on a Canon HD Mini-DV video camera. Maternity photos taken by my friends and professional photographers at Big Picture Photography. Video edited on a MacBook Pro with the iMovie program.

Good choice with blue icing. Show up great in the photos! Looks like a good time was had by all. You did a fantastic job. AND THE VIDEO!!! Amazing! That first year goes by with lightning speed, and you capture it beautifully. I love it. (I bet it made grandparents cry a little.)
OMG!!!! Love, love, LOVE the video! (It totally made me cry!) I can't believe it's been a year already. And based on how amazing Rhys is and what a sweet little dude he's growing up to be, I think you guys should have about 70 more. :)

These are happy tears!!!! Loved the video. The kids watched it with me and Ronan said......"Rhys...that's a realy cute name." Layton also thought Rhys was a "Cuite Patutie" (sp). :-)
