This post was spurred by a conversation at Glee Club. I asked if anyone had heard Rhianna's new song 'Rude Boy', to which I was replied "Hells no! I'm old! Ask me about a Wiggles song instead!". I heard this song on the radio and could not believe what I was hearing. After Glee Club I watched the video, and, it got worse.
If you're going to watch the video, I suggest you distract your kids for a few minutes and make sure they're not in eye or ear shot.
Based on this video and song, I'm a little concerned for today's youth.
But I'll still crank the volume when it's on the radio, because DAMN it's catchy.

Her daddy must be so proud...
(Oh, and I vote 'no' on doing this one at Glee Club...)
OMG, This is friggin' hilarious! For my post tomorrow I was so going to blog about Lady Gaga's videos and how provocative they are. I already wrote the post and everything! However, to not completely seem like a copy cat, I will wait and post that one later in the month.
To comment on your post, isn't it interesting how much more freedom artists are given today to be....um....."visually creative". Back in the day there would have been no chance for these videos to be played on public television (at least not without their music director fearing for their jobs ;-)
Two things disappoint me about this song/video:
1) "Is you big enough?" should be "Are you big enough?" - the song would not have lost any of its meaning with that simple change
2)Rhianna's thighs.
On the plus side, take a look at 0:35 in the video. There is a photograph of a lion. With a tiara drawn on.

Rob, you know what disappoints me about this video? The stuttered close-up on her boobs at the 2:57 mark.
in my coolness defense, "hells no" is way cooler than "hell no" so that gives me street cred, right?
PS---WHAT.WAS.THAT? MY EYES ARE BURNING!!!!
