5 On Friday: September 19th, 2008 *UPDATED*

1. House Before & Afters

2. I didn't complain when many of the blogs I read obsessively decided to go private. They have kids. Their posts are intended to entertain family members. I get it. Even though I read many other 'parent' blogs that aren't private, I understand everyone has different comfort levels when it comes to these things.

Yesterday I noticed Blogger added a new feature, where I can get post updates from all the blogs I read, sent directly to my Blogger Dashboard. One stop shop for all my Bloggy Goodness. Similar to the 'subscriptions' service that Xanga had. But, this feature doesn't work on protected blogs. Curses!

Just when I was learning to live with the whole 'log in' process (which is ALWAYS worth it because you're all such fabulous bloggers!), I get dealt this new annoyance. Boo. on. you. Blogger.

3. Kal over at [i]lovelife, is pregnant with her second child. I discovered her blog when Keri linked to it from her blog. I've never met Kal, and I've never commented on her blog. There is a name for people like me. I'm a 'Lurker'. So, she has no idea I exist or that I occasionally write about her on my blog. Which is totally creepy. Anyways...what she doesn't know can't hurt her...so moving on...

Kal named her first born daughter 'Pilot'. Such a unique name inspired me to read back in Kal's blog, to learn more about this artistic lady. Turns out, prior to her daughter's birth, she had made several references to the word 'Pilot'. The most obvious reference being the necklace she wore that said 'love is my pilot'. So, when she announced she is preggers with baby2, I decided I would scrutinize her posts in an attempt to locate clues to baby2's name.

Lately, she has been infatuated with the '&' symbol. Ampersand. At first, Ampersand seems like an odd name for a baby. But, upon further analysis you'll discover it's quite catching.

Andy for short if it's a boy. (ampersANDY)

Sandy for short if it's a girl. (amperSANDY)

I know. I'm a genius. I've got Mad Code Cracking Skillz.

4. Presley the Boxer won the title of "Greatest American Dog"! (This is actually old news, but I PVR'd the finale and didn't watch it until last night).

5. I woke up Thursday morning, convinced that it was Saturday.

At 6:35am I hopped out of bed to feed the dogs, feeling light as air, without an ounce of grumpiness, because I *knew* I'd be able to crawl back into bed and sleep for another couple hours.

Warren found this odd, because normally on a work day I would hold-out until he caved in and got up to feed the dogs. He also found it odd that I came back to bed, instead of staying up to get ready for work. But he didn't say anything.

Then I made a comment about how I hope the Dumpster guys don't show up too early (we have a dumpster being dropped off on Saturday morning so we can get rid of all our old carpet and other junk we want to purge). Again, Warren said nothing.

A few minutes later I started laughing and said 'Gawd I'm an idiot! I didn't need to save those leftovers last night!' Wednesday night we had gone to Open Sesame for dinner, and I had my leftovers boxed up so I could take them to work for lunch the next day. But in my 'Saturday' brain, I was convinced that had been unnecessary because I wasn't going to work today, and didn't need a boxed lunch.

"Why not?" Warren asked.

"Because I don't work today!" I blurted out.

"You're not going to work today?" he asked.

"No... it's... Saturday" I responded, slowly, as my mind raced to figure out why he would ask me that.

"Uh, no it's not. It's Thursday".

I could have cried.

Seriously, do I have Alzheimer's?

This post reveals something else about me too.

Who else, at 6:35am in the morning, is thinking about leftovers and what they're having for lunch?

I'm weird.

The renovations look AWESOME...... can't wait to see the rest of the 'Before and Afters!'

I, too, think Kal is quite something....even though I don't know her either. We're curious, NOT creepy!!

since we are talking about Kal (who now will totally find your blog since you linked to it) my guess is Harmony Kostenchuk. Or Tiny Art Lady Kostenchuck.

LOVE the renos.

AND YOU ARE SO FREAKIN FUNNY!

Since you talked about lurking I figured this would be a good time to delurk. My name is Nicole. I'm friends with erin. Used to live in Calgary & just moved to Winnipeg.

I agree with Kara, it's not creepy at all. (Oh btw Kara, we met via Keri at Corus when you did make-up on our station photo shoot a few years back when you and I were both pregnant and I check out your blog as well - a double delurk!)

Anyhow, I trust erin's blog judgement and have not been disappointed. I'm still hoping to see more Europe pics as I've never been there, but I especially like your conversation blogs - lots of good humour there!

I do think its lurking and a bit creepy BUT I also think that's what blogs are for. Everyone whose blog is not protected knows, and probably wants, strangers to look at it. That is the point.

LOVE the new bedroom look. It turned out great! Can't wait to see it in person. hint hint

The befores and afters look amazing (well, mainly the afters) I love renovation photos!!! I will ffwd through an entire HGTV or TLC program just to see the last 5 minutes where they show the before and after part. I know it's probably a bit of a headache, but what fun!!!

p.s. You don't own a pair of binoculars by chance do you??? Just to be safe, I'm shutting the blinds tonight ;-)

Ha!
I would have thought for sure Amanda would have met Nicole before.

Keri is a common connection too, since Keri knows Nicole AND Amanda. Sheesh. Back in the Xanga days I talked about having a Xanga party but we should totally have a blog party.

And instead of nametags, we wear "hello my name is...Cronin Chronicles." and "hello my name is Kelly Family Adventures!"
